MOROCCO TOUR FROM CASABLANCA TO SAHARA DESERT 11 DAYS

Reserve our 11-day private vacation from Casablanca to experience Merzouga and Marrakech. Travel across the Middle Atlas Mountains and enjoy a camel ride before spending the night in a desert camp.

DAY 1:  CASABLANCA

Your driver/guide will meet you at the Mohamed 5 airport in Casablanca and transport you to your accommodation.

The first night in a hotel.

DAY 2: CASABLANCA - RABAT

You will begin your journey at 8:OO a.m. with a visit to Casablanca's largest mosque, Hassan 2 mosque. You will also be able to tour other parts of the city before traveling to Rabat, Morocco's capital. We shall begin with the Bad Challah, Mohammed V's Mausoleum, and one of the main entrances of the royal palace and the Oudaya Kasbah. Lunch in a local restaurant followed by a drop-off at your riad in the medina for the night.

DAY 3: RABAT - CHEFCHAOUEN

The third day, about 8 a.m., you will drive directly to the blue city of Chefchaouen. Of course, you will pass through many small villages and stop for breaks to get Chefchaouen a bite early so that you can go within the narrow alleys of the medina and snap pictures while also experiencing the traditional food. I spent the night in a riad.

DAY 4 : CHEFCHAOUEN-FES

We will drive to Fes at 9 a.m. in the morning. You will see the historical site of Volubilis before arriving at Fes. Following a tour with a native guide, you will go to Meknes for sightseeing. You will begin with the beautiful Bad Mansour gate, the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, Sahrij, and the Jewish district. Lunch in a local restaurant within Meknes's historic medina. You will drive to Meknes after lunch. I spent the night in a riad in the medina.

DAY 5 :TOUR GUIDE IN FES

The tour guide in Fes includes both the old and new medinas. With a native tour in Fes, you will spend the day discovering Morocco's oldest and most intellectual medina. The royal palace, the Jewish district, the upward view from the south Bourj, and the ceramic-pottery-store-and-factory will be your first stops. After visiting all of these sites, you will have a long walk around the medina to learn about its unique culture and historical significance, including the famous Al Qaraouine University - the region's oldest – the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you'll tour a tile cooperative and then enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Fes' Medina. In the afternoon, we'll go to "La ville nouvelle" for a drink. I spent the night in the same riad.

DAY 6 : FES- AZROU- MIDELT- MERZOUGA

After breakfast, you'll take the Middle Atlas to the desert. First, you will be impressed with the cleanest city in Morocco, Ifrane, sometimes known as the Moroccan Switzerland. Then, via Azrou, you will halt in the forest for a break and to observe wild monkeys, the barbary macaquee, living among the cedar forest – Morocco's largest. The journey to Midelt continues via the majestic Atlas hills and mountains, passing over the interesting Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorges, with views of the High Atlas plateau. As you approach the city of Errachidia, where you will eat lunch and enjoy some Berber hospitality, you will observe how the scenery transforms to reveal indications of the desert. Following that, you'll journey through the lush Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic views along the route in Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon, where you'll be greeted with a drink of mint tea before checking into your riad. Overnight in a hotel on the outskirts of Erg Chebbi's magnificent sand dunes. I spent the night in a hotel.

DAY 7 : MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR

After breakfast, we can begin exploring the area by visiting the settlement of the Gnawi people, who were formerly Sudanese slaves, to see their music and way of life. Merzouga Lake, with its flamingos, is not far away. You should also go to the nomad wire house, where many Berber handicrafts are less than in the big towns. You'll be ready for your camel ride in the afternoon. You'll spend 2-3 hours exploring the enigmatic sand dunes of the Erg-Chebbi with a skilled camel driver before spending your first night beneath the stars, or if you prefer, in a Berber nomad tent. Dinner will be provided in the tent where you'll be sleeping for the night.
